Becks came home from staying at Julia’s house with this. It’s really the coolest Batman thing we’ve ever seen. He can pull the wings in with pulleys on his shoulders and then pull a string to make them pop out. It has gloves too. And a cape.
Devine Providence has once again left Tony, A Wizards season ticket holder, with something to do when the biggest game of the year is in town. This time Zach Lutz and I benefited from Tony’s Sabbatical by getting two 3rd row tickets to see Manchester United play against the Kansas City Wizards. So we picked up Chris Earnshaw and Rudy Prins before joining about 52,000 other people to watch the Wizards defeat the Red Devils 2-1. All this with one less player after Jimmy Conrad was ejected for a dirty tackle.
The first Wizards goal was put in by Davy Arnaud who two years ago I spiked a volleyball on his head at a Westminster Fund Raiser game, clearly my spiking on his head has lead to great things for him. It is also worth noting the guy who has the worst goal miss in history Kei Kamara scored the winner against the most valuable sports franchise in history.
Free kick being set up.
Berbatov the Bulgarian, reminds me of Hristo Stoichkov the legend.
Here he celebrates his goal (PK)
Paul Scholes fakes out nobody and it worked.
This hair guy in back is a testimony to why I would never join the Cauldron. The guy in front of him has on a wizards hat, but he also has on a Celtic jersey (Scottish Team). The hairy guy would not stop yelling profanities at the guy in front because he wore something other than a Wizards jersey. It went way over the line and the guy in front called security on him. Dear Hairy Man, it’s a game, a game you are not even playing in. Calm down.
Zach enjoying the humidity and heat.
Here is their mascot, a little weird that he is a devil. In Malasia they recently banned Manchester United jerseys because there is a devil on it. It’s a muslim country so Devils and Crosses are banned. A case where an enemy of an enemy is NOT a friend.
This guy’s friend pushed him over the chairs and he decided to stay there and rest for a bit.
All in all it was a great game, can’t wait to see what amazing game Tony won’t be able to go to next summer.
Beckham came in to Sadie Piper’s room tonight with two books: “New Baby” that he wanted to read to Berkley and “Our class took a trip to the zoo” for SP. He had picked out these specific books for his girls and asked to read to them tonight. He then gave SP the option of Brown Bear, Brown Bear too (cause he knows all the words) and she jumped on that one. Here’s what followed. (it’s more for us to look back on!)
We’ve been blessed with really great neighbors all around! Becks and SP get especially excited when they see the family across the street and always want to go say hi and have some silly conversation that they always encourage, cause they are fun like that! They have two great high schoolers who love God, gotta love that! They asked them to come swimming this weekend and the kids got all dressed and waited by the window to get “picked up.” SP walked right out the door, with a causal “Bye Mom!” We love that they are so comfortable with friends!
Last week was the first Friday in a few weeks we’ve been in town, so it was extra fun to do pizza night with all of us! We ride our bikes to the pizza shop, how 1950s is that?
We switched it up a little and Berkley moved into Beckham’s buggy.
SP got her own! She was most excited to have two cup holders (pockets)
While we waited they brought out this singing pizza Elmo. Berkley thought it was the funniest thing she’s ever seen in her life. All 10 months of it. Didn’t get video until it had worn off a little, but you get the point.
Back to the pizza: It was good, but too expensive. With a coupon it was $10, which was great, but normal price was $16. And there weren’t any left overs. Brian gave it a 8.5 with the coupon, a 3 without. Too expensive for too little. I gave it a 7.
