Outside of seeing family, of course, our favorite part of Dallas is the consumerism: good food and good stores! NorthPark Mall is a great place to just walk! They have a new huge grassed outside area, perfect for running!

And tackling!

And snacking!

DSCN8812

And being cute

DSCN8787

Oh, and it was 80 there all week, so we played and ate outside a lot. This was lunch at a park!

Beckham lost his sunglasses, so he borrowed mine!

She found this “stage” and sang and danced for us!

DSCN8762

Seriously don’t know what’s up with this pose lately…

DSCN8709

DSCN8708

How cute are they??

DSCN8705

This was gross. Scott was unloading the dishwasher and you know how the bottom of the blender fills up with that half soap, half dirty water that normal people just pour out? Well Scott said he’d DRINK it for $10. Ashley reminded him that he’s a Dr now with a real job, $10 isn’t what it used to be, but he did it anyways. (I know, and he’s supposed to be the smart one!!)

Spring Break

We hit up the Dallas Zoo. Which we learned later that day, isn’t half what the Ft Worth Zoo is (only 45 min away). We didn’t get a heads up in that. Sure, we lived there for 3 years, but we never went to either zoo, we didn’t have kids and weren’t in the market for that kind of trip. Next time: Ft Worth!

Here is SP with the lemur statue:

DSCN8680

Brian prompted her to make the “lemur face”…he so sweetly shows her what this looks like:

Here’s what we got:

Go ahead and just smile normal Sades:

Then my mom paid who knows how much for lettuce to feed the giraffes!

Looks like it was worth every penny though!

The animals weren’t plentiful, but the animal statues were!

This picture shows a lot of personality: Becks doing exactly what he was asked to, SP being goofy, and Berkley not understanding what’s going on!

DSCN8639

I stayed outside with Berks while they went into the “Ewwys” (Reptile House)

The Day We Had “Dogs”

We’ve mentioned before that we don’t want another dog. The pros did not outweigh the cons for us. No worries, Tiny is in a better place (aka we gave him away!).

But kids love dogs! So we got creative and they each had a “dog” for the day!

They got to come to Wal-Mart

DSCN8512

Berkley’s “dog” was the littlest. Obviously.

DSCN8514

I just like Becks in the background here walking his!

DSCN8513

We even had them take them outside to pee.

Tiny did come to visit the other day! Happy Sadie Piper = Poor Tiny.

Window Crayons

Found these super cool Crayola Window Crayons

If you have kids, buy them. I tried the window markers too, but these were better!

Not sure what was up with SP today…

DSCN8613

I wish I could say I asked them to make funny faces…but this was all them

And them our typical first child initiated clean-up.

DSCN8618

(In the meantime, Sadie Piper was probably making six more messes) 🙂

The Day They Were “Engine Turtles”

Becks asked me to tie a ribbon around his head so he could be an “Engine Turtle” as he put it. He means “Ninja Turtle,” but we didn’t correct him! 🙂 So of course, Sadie Piper wanted in on the fun (even thought we are about 99% positive she has no idea what a Ninja Turtle is), so she improvised with a headband (and instead got a rockin’ 80s look going). Beckham got a sword, and again, Sadie Piper improvised with a…snorkle.

DSCN8584

I can’t tell you how much this girl makes us laugh all day!

DSCN8585

So when we headed out to Lowes, we let them stay in character, cause you can’t pass up a look like this:

DSCN8587

DSCN8588

Riiiiight now

Sadie Piper has this adorable Southern Texas accent sometimes. We’ve discovered it comes out full force when she says, “Right now,” so we documented it on video. Please don’t outgrow that, Sades!!

It’s good to see the Coopers…and it’s good to be missed!

IMG_3854

I got to go see Lara last month! Brian watched the big kids so this trip could happen, and I’m so thankful that he’s always willing to do that so we can see each other.

DSCN8369

IMG_3855

The rodeo was in town, so we hit up the Rodeo Parade!!

LOTS of horses. Duh, this is Texas.

DSCN8371

This cracked me up. Well, a lot did! But this was crazy! These are real live people who reenact the wars. Like “Sweet Home Alabama” but in REAL LIFE!

DSCN8375

Another VERY Texas thing: THEY ARE RIDING LONGHORNS!!

DSCN8377

Real live Cowboy Churches too!

DSCN8379

DSCN8388

So, “Winter” in Texas means “Put on your long sleeve shirt.” It was an awesome break from Kansas “Winter” which means, “Stay inside.”

WE WENT OUTSIDE TO PLAY!!

DSCN8402

Why is the 7 month pregnant girl pulling the wagon?? Why doesn’t someone step in to help her?? (I do love their faces in this picture!)

DSCN8412

There, that’s more like it! 🙂

DSCN8408

DSCN8411

Berkley doesn’t look pumped in this picture, but she was the one who crawled up for some cuddle time.

IMG_3862

The girls moved their chairs…to RIGHT in front of the TV! Good thing they are little enough to see right over!

DSCN8414

Then when I got Home, Brian told me, “I’m pretty sure the only green thing they ate all weekend was a green Froot Loop Sadie found in her car seat.”

Ahh, it’s good to be needed.
