It’s finally warm enough to get outside here!! We got super excited about this and decided we wanted to ride our bikes up to the evening service at church yesterday. I was a little apprehensive, seeing that the farthest I’ve ever ridden a bike in my life was 6 miles (when Brian got into biking last year I was pregnant and sick) and it’s 7 miles to church…and I’d have to get home too. Brian is super bike rider, as in he’s ridden 400 miles this year already; so this ride up to church he does often and fast (15 mph fast). He was super sweet and pulled the two big kids and went at my pace (more like 7 mph!). I was grateful for gears on bikes for two reasons: for me hills, and for Brian so he could get in a lower gear and since he’s used to cruising, this meant he could keep his usual cadence (such a biker word!) and not take off leaving me in the dust!! It was such fun family time, the exercise part was really just bonus!
The kids did amazing; Berkley hung out as usual, and the big kids loved looking around! Beckham did tell me at one point that the reason I was going slower was cause Brian and I needed to switch bikes. Yeah, that’s it.
My legs were mush when we got home, but today they are better and I’m looking forward to the next ride! And then there’s Brian who was out the door to head to church on his bike again at 8 this morning! I’m not sure I’m that ready!
Here’s a video of our journey! (BTW, how cute is my bike?? I LOVE my bike! Brian made me do a lot of research before I bought it, so I tried out a lot of bikes, I’m SO thankful he did!! I fell in love with this bike!! It’s super cute (which is very important!), the perfect shape so I can sit up more than road bikes, and did I mention it’s adorable!?)
Here is the GPS Map of the trip.

Awesome Laura! Saving the world 1 commute at a time. And I LOVE how stoked the kids are! Next bike for the family is obviously an Xtraxycle:)

Laura, Where did you get that bike? I’m curious. What bike shop?
